Every Child Matters – The National Context – How Kidsafe Fits
All services to and for children and young people now need to be measured and judged in terms of the Every Child Matters and the way they contribute towards the five outcomes. Kidsafe makes its strongest contribution to the Stay Safe outcome, specifically to the areas of;Medical and social research has demonstrated a direct link between abuse and mental, emotional and physical ill health. Therefore the Kidsafe course also contributes towards the “Be Healthy” outcome in the areas of;As the feedback indicates, Kidsafe increases the self confidence of the majority of children taking part. It also provides then with strategies for dealing with potentially abusive situations. In these ways, the course contributes to the “Make A Positive Contribution” outcome, specifically;Each of the Every Child Matters outcomes is underpinned by a range of inspection criteria, to be applied by Ofsted and other inspectorates.
