The quality of a school’s safeguarding and child protection practices, and its promotion of child wellbeing, are key factors that are assessed during school inspections in the UK.

Each regulatory body in the UK follows its own inspection framework where evidence is collected to assess how well a school meets the required standards. Schools are assessed on the effectiveness of their safeguarding procedures and policies, and the wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development of their pupils.

Our school works closely with Kidsafe UK to provide pupils with learning activities that build their awareness and skills for dealing with uncomfortable situations or relationships. This has helped our pupils to feel confident in talking to adults if they are worried and has allowed us to quickly address any concerns. As a result, pupils feel safe at school.
KidSafe UK Safeguarding provides a strong safeguarding curriculum that meets the statutory requirements set out in KCSIE, which is the framework that Ofsted uses to measure the effectiveness of safeguarding in schools.
